Clara on the Phone

Clara isn’t just text-based. Customers can call your business and talk to Clara directly. She can:
  • Answer calls instantly (no more waiting on hold)
  • Answer questions about hours, pricing, services
  • Book appointments by collecting dates and times
  • Take messages for human staff to follow up
  • Handle call routing (transfer to a real person if needed)

How It Works

When a customer calls your business number:
  1. Clara answers (she sounds like a real person)
  2. She listens to what they need
  3. She answers questions or books an appointment
  4. If needed, she transfers the call to a staff member
You get a notification of missed calls, messages, and scheduled appointments—all in your https://agentclara.app/chats inbox.

Getting Started with Voice

To set up voice calls:

Get a Phone Number

Go to https://agentclara.app/integrations/phone-numbersChoose:
  • Get a new number - We’ll give you a local number (costs ~$2-5/month)
  • Use your existing number - Redirect your current business number to Clara (requires carrier setup)
Click Get Number and follow the steps.

Teach Clara About Calls

Go to https://agentclara.app/agent > Voice PersonalityTell Clara:
  • How to greet callers (“Hi, thanks for calling Beautiful Cuts!”)
  • What information to collect
  • When to transfer calls to a human
Add this to your system prompt:
“You’re Clara, our phone assistant. Greet callers warmly. If you can’t help, ask for their phone number and say we’ll call them back.”

Connect Your Calendar

If Clara is booking appointments, she needs to see when you’re available.Go to https://agentclara.app/integrations > CalendarConnect Google Calendar, Outlook, or Calendly.

Test It

Call your new phone number from your cell phone. Clara should answer. Try:
  • “What are your hours?”
  • “Can I book an appointment?”
  • “Do you offer [service]?”
If she answers wrong, go back and add information to her knowledge base.

Customers call you → Clara answers

Customer leaves a message → Clara transcribes it

Outbound Campaigns

Clara calls customers (by the thousands) for marketing or follow-ups

View Call Records

All calls show up in your https://agentclara.app/chats inbox. Each call shows:
  • Who called (their phone number)
  • When (date and time)
  • Duration (how long the call lasted)
  • Transcript (what was said)
  • Outcome (appointment booked, message left, etc.)
Click a call to see the full conversation and take action.
